Linn

Linn It all started with an unsatisfied hi-fi customer over 40 years ago. The quality of his turntable was highly disappointing; in order to correct this disappointment Ivor Tiefenbrun decided to design and engineer the Linn Sondek LP-12 turntable. Since it first went to market, research and development has not stopped and today refinements are still being incorporated into the LP-12. Due to the longevity of the fundamental design of the LP-12, even the oldest versions can still be upgraded to have the latest and greatest specifications Linn can offer.

Taking their cues in the analogue performances and quality of playback, Linn decided to enter the world of digital playback in the early 1990s. Though they no longer produce a silver-disc spinner, they are one of the leading forces in the wireless streaming playback domain.

Pushing the limits of high-end performance in their music systems Linn went down an unexpected route. Wanting to see what would happen if the digital signal remained in its digital form until it hit the speakers.
The R&D took years to perfect this new way of designing; but the effort was worth it and has taken home audio to entirely different realm. The power of their Linn’s Exakt software is remarkable, allowing you to have perfect sounding hi-fi in the most acoustically challenged listening rooms.

Linn has never seemed to be a company afraid of going against the grain. As it was over 40 years ago when Ivor made took the turntable world by storm by his “radical” designs, in recent times Linn again has entered into a world few have dared tread in the hi-fi industry and in-doing-so have set themselves apart with great success.
