Technics was born from a passion to drive musical reproduction to the next level. Without knowing it, when the SL-1200 turntable launched back in 1972, Technics would indirectly become one of the most influential brands for music then and now. To this day DJs worldwide still use the SL-1200 (and its variants) and it is regarded by many audiophiles as a modifier's dream.
Its not a secret, Technics as a brand went into the shadows and didn't make much noise after 40 years of innovations. Then back in 2010 rumours started to surface about the innovations starting to take place at Technics. By 2015 Technics was at every hi-fi show around the world, showing off their newly designed high-end amplification and speakers. Soon thereafter, there was whispers about the re-launch of the SL-1200 turntable started to be heard within the industry, causing a lot of excitement. A year later, the Limited Edition SL-1200GAE was introduced to the world was welcomed with open arms.
But don't be fooled, Technics is not a “one pony” company, just have a look at some of the innovations they incorporate into their amplifiers and speakers. For example, all their amplifiers minimise the degradation of the amplified signal over the entire frequency range that allows it to be heard as it was intended by the use of JENO Engine, which stands for Jitter Elimination and Noise-shaping Optimisation. Other features include LAPC (Load Adaptive Phase Calibration), GaN-FET Driver (High Speed and Low Impedance Power devices), Battery Driven Clock Generator, and the list goes on.
Technics is a company that has influenced how everyone in the world listens to music; it is a company who has helped shape modern music; it is a company that you can trust to faithfully reproduce your beloved music.
